🎯 What's the Budget?

The Budget column is a tool for both displaying the total budget per board item and visualizing budget consumption based on hours worked.

🔎Configuring Budget Settings

When you add a Budget column to your board, you will be prompted to select from the following views:

  • Total Budget: Presents the total budget per item as a static figure.

  • Remaining Budget: Dynamically updates the remaining budget as time is logged.

  • Remaining / Total Budget: Offers real-time updates on remaining budget alongside the total allocation.

  • Cost / Total Budget: Displays the proportion of budget consumed relative to the total allocation for the item.

You can modify the view any time by accessing the ellipses next to 'Budget' and selecting 'Settings'.

After selecting your preferred view, input the bill rate, which represents the budget consumed per hour.

Click 'Save'.

Enter the total budget into each row after saving your settings.

😅Visualize Budget Consumption

To visualize budget consumption in real time, add a Time Tracking column to your board.

  • Navigate to 'Add Colum'

  • Select 'Time Tracking'

The bill rate will automatically apply to every hour logged in the budget column, showcasing either the cost or remaining budget.

Update the bill rate in the 'Settings' of your budget column, or access 'Options' from the main menu located above your board.

A percentage of the budget field will change color, turning green when there is still some budget remaining and red when the budget has been fully consumed.

FAQS

If I don't add time tracking, can I still use the Budget column?

Yes! Note that only the Total Budget view will display correctly if not used in conjunction with time tracking.

Can I change the bill rate associated with each item?

No, only one bill rate can be set per board.
